Dollhouse Miniatures

So a while back, well I should say more like a two and a half months ago, my mother and I went to an estate sale and they had lots of nice stuff but since I refuse to pay more than what I budget myself for (no more than $5 for each item, unless its a very good item) I ended up buying four sets of vintage gloves for $2 each

These beige ones are beautiful and I listed them on Etsy.com right away for $9.90 including shipping

Then I posted these beautiful Opera Gloves for $19.90 shipping including and this morning I sold them, I was so thrilled since I only paid $2 for them.

At the same estate sale I broke down and purchased a sealed small plastic bag with miniature carpet rugs.  I wanted to open the bag to see what was really in it, but the sales lady refused to let me open it. Well little did I know there is a huge market for miniature furniture and stuff.

I paid $10 for the bag and in it were six vintage Native American Tobacco Felt indian rug which I listed each for $6.95 plus $3.95 shipping, of which I have already sold three of them.

One lady shared with me the following message:

Note from Buyer What a great little rug. This one wont even be used in a dollhouse but will be used for ceremony in a traditional way... so it'll be well taken care of and cherished. Thanks so much, can't wait to get it! Blessings, Marcia :)

What a nice detail to share with me.  I was happy to hear that an item I sold was going to be used for such a special occasion.

So in addition to the felt rugs, there were two additional Tobacco Silk area rugs.  I love these rugs, the texture and detail of them made them very interesting to me. All the area rugs were marked which made them even more interesting.

So, since I have already sold three of the felt rugs, I already made my money back and there are still three left plus the silk rugs.

Because I purchased that little bag filled with miniature rugs, I discovered the wonderful world of miniature.  Miniature furniture is a big market all over the world and so when I stopped at a yard sale and noticed a baggie filled with miniature pantry food and plastic fruit, I immediately picked it up.

This what was in the plastic baggie minus seven items that i already sold and shipped today.

I came home and sorted out the fruit and vegetables, which I listed together. I then listed all refrigerated items, like the eggs, milks, ice cream, then another listing were the condiments, another can goods.

Anyway, to make a super long story short.  I paid a dollar for this bag and I made $12 today and I still have the rest of the items to sell.

How cool is that?

Is anybody into dollhouse miniature?

Who would have ever thought that I would be making money by doing what I love and enjoy doing.  With each passing day I learn more and more and love every minute of it.

I wish I connected with someone who is a pro at this and knows how to spot a perfect deal.  I want to someday find an item that is worth thousands.  I believe it, do you?
